The Week Ahead: Days 47-51

Welcome to the middle of November! We will continue to assign and work on our four weekly language arts assignments. Weekly assignments are: 1. Spelling Contract, 2. Literature Circle Reading and Job Sheet, 3. “Story of the Week”, and 4. Online Journal Entry. These assignments would be difficult to complete if you are not seeing them come home. In writing, this week’s “story of the week” focuses on a problem and a solution. The kids will still be rated in the six trait called ‘Organization”. Social Studies projects are due this Wednesday. Kids will learn about the Sequoya and Cherokee, Thomas Jefferson in Williamsburg, and how the country was divided during those times. We will wrap up health with a chapter one review and test. Math with Mr. Vanderport will continue to focus on division. I will be teaching the “Mathematizing Process” and we will continue doing our math facts in the computer lab.
