Healthy Snacks Needed

We will be having a short, five-minute snack break during each morning to help kids keep their energy levels up until our 12:40 p.m. lunchtime. Please send healthy snacks to school on a daily basis for your child. Do not send snacks with excess sugar and sweeteners or snacks containing large amounts of trans fats (more info on trans fats can be found at: http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2003/503_fats.html ).

Appropriate snacks include but are not limited to: vegetables, fruits, some self-contained snack bars, certain types of nuts, and certain types of crackers including graham. Please do not send candy, cookies or other sugary sweets as these foods actually do more harm to kids' energy levels during the morning hours. Students will not be allowed to consume these snacks if they bring them to school.
