The Week Ahead: Days 28-31

No school this Friday, October 21st! This week will be full of fun, new learning. Kids will get their first Guest Teacher on Monday morning, as I will be out of school until noon. We are taking our first Scholastic test this week while learning test-taking strategies. Science will bring the Metric Olympics competitions. Students will be competing in three events, Treasure Grab (for metric mass measurement practice), Movin’ Water (for metric volume measurement practice), and Paper Airplane Toss (for metric linear measurement practice). In social studies the kids will learn about our country’s regions, review for the Chapter 2 Test, and take the test on Thursday. We will be writing more samples to put into out Ideas writing portfolios and continue to work with spelling with our Week 4 Spelling Contracts. We will have Monday Math Madness in math and continue to go to Mr. Vanderport’s room and work on number sense and arrays.
