The Week Ahead: Days 32-36

Monday we will be heading to the DECC to watch a performance of the Physics Force presented by four well-know, award-winning Minnesota physics teachers. To find out more go to the site: http://www.physics.umn.edu/outreach/pforce/. Kids will get their second Guest Teacher on Tuesday, as I will be out of school at a fourth grade meeting all day. Reading will bring our first experience with literature circles. More to come on literature circles next week. In social studies the kids will learn about the Southeast, the mighty Mississippi, music on the rivers, and will discuss current events with the weekly publication Scholastic News. We will be writing more samples to put into out Ideas writing portfolios and we will learn a new trait called Organization. We will also continue to work on spelling with our Week 5 Spelling Contracts. Mr. Vanderport will continue more work on number sense and arrays in math.
