A Brief Look @ Mr. Monson

It just seems like yesterday when I starting my first day of teaching second grade in Mankato, Minnesota. Well, that was 1994 and I guess a lot has happened since then. I taught in Mankato for another four years. After that my wife, Sara, and I decided to make the move back to her old home of Duluth. We both were fortunate to teach in Duluth for the last eight years. I started at Nettleton in fifth grade, moved to the computer lab for three years, and have spent three years at Laura MacArthur Elementary School teaching in the Title I program. Last year I taught fourth grade before choosing to come back to the great staff and kids at Nettleton.

My teaching interests include writing, computers and social studies and will do many activities utilizing technology this year in these and other areas.

If I am not at school you could find me hanging out with Sara and our chocolate lab, Jack on a hiking trail, in a canoe, or at a beach. I also like to kayak, bike, and most of all run on the roads and trails around the country.
